A Surprise Visit

Yesterday morning I received a surprise phonecall.
My girlfriend, Mona, made an impromptu trip from Lebanon to Kuwait.  So instead of walking, I  baked sprinkle cookies using my favorite recipe from Mimi's Kitchen.
This is when my handmade creations come in handy for a last minute gift.
We met for iftar (breaking the fast) at my favorite Italian restaurant, Villagio.
During Ramadan, restaurants open around 6:00 p.m. and dinner is served once the sun sets and the call to prayer is heard.
We had a delicious meal and then headed over to Costa Coffee at Marina Mall for a latte and espresso.
She's here for a week so we have a lot of catching up to do.

Hope you are having a great day in your corner of the world.

  9. How lovely to have a surprise visit from a good friend.....know you two will have a good time.

I only get to sip Costa when in airports it seems - we have mainly Starbucks (of course!) and varied independent coffee vendors. I love coffee in the mornings and then usually tea after noon.

Enjoy each day with Mona - I have some Lebanese friends here, they own the best bakery and restaurant in town, and I love Lebanese food!

    Hugs - Mary

  14. Girlfriends are the best! I'm headed to Virginia tomorrow to visit my dearest one. We haven't seen each other in over two years. There will be some walking, hanging out with her beautiful horses, a little crocheting, and of course lots of eating.

    Have a great weekend!
