Visit With a Friend

In addition to the cranberry scones,
yesterday's baking also yielded banana muffins and jam thumbprint cookies.
My girlfriend, Melissa, came by for a visit this morning.
Three hours went by in the blink of an eye.
We did more visiting than we did eating.
 She recently traveled to Dubai
and brought back magazines that are now hard to find here.
She also gave me a package of Olives Au Chocolat
from La Cure Gourmande.
(Chocolate covered almonds made to look like olives).
It's the friends we meet along life's road
who help us appreciate the journey ...

A little cross-stitch finished this afternoon.
(oops ... just noticed I left some stitches uncrossed)

I hope your day is filled with the blessings of friendship.

  3. That must have been a fun three hours visiting with your friend; and the magazines and treats she brought for you are very thoughtful, since they are hard to get where you are.

  4. It took me forever to find those missed stitches, but I finally did. As I was reading about the chocolates, I thought "who would want a chocolate olive?" I;'m glad you translated. And I thought English was difficult (grin).

Since you didn't eat all these goodies, I'd be glad to take a jam thumbprint off your hands. I love those!

  7. Sounds like a perfect morning.

Yummy treats from your friend and that you made.

Interesting how the camera serves to focus the attention on that which is not quite right.

    Enjoy Wednesday.

Cranberry scones sound wonderful - have you ever tried tossing in some orange peel and chocolate chips for extra deliciousness?

  24. Hi Tammy,
    That's a nice visit with a friend. :)

My day included friendship with our cat, Mr. Butters. He is increasingly becoming my good buddy around the house.

Hope you have a nice remainder of the week.

Still wonderfully-quiet here as Sarah doesn't return from Tennessee until the weekend. :)

  31. Hi Tammy,

Your cross-stitch is so pretty. I can so relate to your excitement re: your friend's visit. I, too, live far away from my family and friends and whenever they visit it's always extra special - (the decorating magazines were always a bonus for me too)!

Thanks for stopping by my place and for the lovely comments.

  33. Isn't that something...you needed a friend and then the next day one appears to sit with you for 3 hours. Coincidence...I don't think so. The universe, if we're in tune to it, will always provide exactly what we need when we need it. Obviously....you're "in tune" with it. I'm so glad you got some lovely magazines, chocolates and a great friend to share some time with.
