Yesterday I was invited for a late birthday lunch.
Chickpea curry. Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese). Roti filled with spinach, peas, and potatoes. Salad with yogurt.
Dessert was espresso brownies topped with coffee, ice cream and cherries. Delicious!
And the sweetest gifts. An embroidered teatowel and Mary Engelbreit kitchen journal.
It's been a very busy week so it was nice to take a little time out.
Yesterday the dust wasn't so bad but it is back in full force today. So glad for the weekend. You know I love my pajamas.
Hope you are having a great week.
Such a delightful lunch and I know that cute dish towel (Anthropologie is where I saw it). I adore Owls.
ReplyDeleteSorry that the dust is so bad. :( I wish I could send you some of our warm sunshine. I'm looking forward to being off later this afternoon and out in the backyard garden moving the last of the strawberry plants (I moved the entire raised bed the other night). It's as if we skipped right over spring this week and marched right into Summer here.
Have a nice weekend. I may not be around much in the coming days because as our weekend begins, so does our Spring Break and we have plans for fun as a family over the coming days.
Blessings always,
Linda
Your lunch looks like it must have been delicious! I love curry and I'm going to Google and see if I can get recipes for all those things....it really looked yummy. The dessert too! Was that coffee ice cream or did they put coffee over the ice cream?
ReplyDeleteYour gifts were precious. Of course, I LOVE M.E....in fact I posted about one of her books today and the towel is awesome. I wonder if I could copycat that embroidery. I do that a lot when there's things I can't afford. I make my own "less-expensive" version! LOL! That was a great post...thanks for all the inspiration. I'd take your birthday any day!
The food look so good and what nice gifts.

ReplyDeleteHi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteLunch looks delicious, I love chick pea curry. That's my kind of meal.
I do so hope the dust settles soon and you get some clear skies.
London is beautiful today, 16C and sunshine with all the trees just about to burst into blossom.
Taught my class this morning and have spent the afternoon on Portobello Market looking at antiques.
Enjoy your weekend!!
Hugs, Angela.
Dearest Tammy,
ReplyDeleteAt least your late birthday lunch looks yummy. That kind of food we ate a lot while working more than ten years in India as consultants. Our Indian friends here do prepare it for us once in a while.
Sorry that you have again the dust... Wish we could share things so all would come out more equal in this world. We pray for having a normal summer, not as dry and hot as last year. Replacing so many plants, shrubs and trees is no fun...
Love to you,
Mariette
Once again you are making me terrible hungry with all that delicious looking food. Glad you had a wonderful outing, hope the dust settles soon.
