Prayers of Thanksgiving

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Remember God's bounty in the year. String the pearls of His favor. Hide the dark parts, except so far as they are breaking out in light! Give this one day to thanks, to joy, to gratitude! ~Henry Ward Beecher

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice. ~Meister Eckhart

Peace and blessings to one and all!

  19. Thanksgiving isn't a holiday in Portugal, though it apparently is original from Europe (I just learned that from the Wikipedia!). I guess it's probably more related to Northern European countries than to Southern ones... Still, there is so much to be thankfull every day that I think we should celebrate it! I may just have to institute it in our family... starting this year :)
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  22. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Tracy! I think celebrating in foreign countries is fun. We always invited a ton of Americans. We may not have had anything in common but all that mattered was that we were celebrating our holiday!
