Sweet Sixteen

My oldest son turned 16 today, but was not sweet enough to let me take a birthday picture. He said he didn't want to be on my blog.

I told him that's okay! I have pictures from Paris. My little boy is not so little anymore.

He asked for cupcakes, but without a full-size muffin tin, they turned out a bit wonky. No matter, they still taste the same.

Happy day to all of you! Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

  7. 16! One of those wonderfully special milestone birthdays. I've made cupcakes that look like that many a time, and you're right they taste exactly the same. Actually, love the look of wonky cakes. They're, I don't know, so friendly somehow.

  8. Dearest Tammy,

Happy belated 16th birthday to Yusef, as your day already past...
Guess what we ate for supper today? Your fabulous recipe from May 23 with the spicy corn and lentil soup! GREAT recipe. Well, we both like spicy foods and that makes for a different taste. You live in a great part of the world too with lots of variety on vegetarian dishes. Would be great if Americans would adopt that more. Healthier too.
Enjoy your week and yes, we too love the green bottle for our hummingbirdfeeder. Different from the usual red...
    Love to you,

    Mariette

  12. Happy Birthday to your son! :)

Sarah turns 16 in December, and as my only-born daughter, I'm already planning some kind of a phenominal event - can't write about it on the blog but it will be big. They grow up so fast.

  26. Happy birthday to Yusef and to his mommy--we always congratulate the mommy too, she's the reason the child is here :)
We don't really celebrate Sweet 16 here, the big day is when they turn 18 and become adults. Different traditions :) But whatever date it is, it's special and I'm sure you're very proud of him like I was when mine turned 18 this year :) (and he still makes silly faces trying to spoil all the pictures I try to take of him...)

  27. Happy Birthday, Yusef! You should let your Mom take pictures, when are grown and on your own, she will need all the memories.

    Isn't that right, Tammy?
