I Got Mail

On July 17th, Julie at Julies Knit and Sew Corner had a giveaway and on August 1st announced that I had won a knitted pincushion. Julie knits, embroiders, cross-stitches and sews from her home in Cheshire, England.

She mailed the pincushion on August 8th and I just received it yesterday. That's much better timing than the 3-1/2 months it took for Nathalie's cards to arrive from the States.

Even better timing was the arrival of a packet of seeds that Jan mailed from Colorado on September 10th.

Prairie Coneflowers a/k/a Mexican Hats that she posted about on July 23rd apparently grow wild in New Mexico and are drought tolerant. The description she included also says that they are easy to establish and naturalize readily, so I am hoping I can get them to grow here.

    Love the pin cushion. So glad mail service cooperated this time. Anxious to know how the Mexican Hats grow in Kuwait.

    Our temperatures finally cooled down last night and we had a little rain. Such a nice change from hot and dry. There was however a serious dust storm to the south resulting in a traffic pile up with one death. Our desert can be brutal at times.

    What a cute little pincushion! Glad to hear it arrived sooner than expected. Good luck with the coneflower seeds. Australian Customs would never have allowed them through. :(
