Summer is Over!

My summer holiday is officially over.

Back to school today. With it being Ramadan, work hours are only 8 am til 1 pm. We'll go back to regular school hours once the students start on September 5th.

Even though all the plants on one balcony dried up, I still go out there to water the wildflowers and to leave a bowl of water for the doves.

Jingles took the opportunity for a moment of bliss.

Isn't it amazing how little it takes to please a cat?

It's good to be just plain happy, it's a little better to know that you're happy; but to understand that you're happy and to know why and how and still be happy, be happy in the being and the knowing, well that is beyond happiness, that is bliss.” (Henry Miller)

Hope you're having a great day! Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

  2. Your holiday may be over, but I see that the summer temperatures continue. Still 100 degrees! I seriously don't know how you do it. Yes, cats are so easily pleased, and I bet it really pleases Jingles to see those birdies!

  13. Tammy,
Hope you have an awesome new school year!
Sarah's school year begins on Wednesday, but like you in hours, they begin with shortened days - 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 (or Noon - something like that), until next week when regular days will likely begin. They go on what's called a "heat schedule" at the beginning because it's August and because our schools have no air conditioning in large portions of the school.

Thankfully we're still enjoying some lovely weather. Summer will not be really over here until end of September, because that's when we will close our pool for the season. In the meantime, we'll be beginning all of the back-to-school activities while continuing to enjoy all of the summertime activities, like swimming in our pool, or having campfires, and going places. So far, I actually have a good attitude about the start of the school year - I feel ready.

Have a blessed week. I'm off tomorrow with Sarah so am enjoying this 3-day weekend.

  16. How quickly the seasons go. I can sense a change in the air here. I think we may have a few days here and there of hot weather, but now in the middle of August we're heading into Fall, which I don't mind, my favorite time. Best to you in the new school year. Blessings.
