Simple Pleasures: Pink and Green

It's hot! 117 degrees! So there's not a whole lot of blooming going on. But I did spy these pink blooms on my way to the grocery store.

And was inspired to crochet and stitch some pink and green of my own.

I'm joining Dayle at A Collection of This and That for Simple Pleasures.

Have a blessed and beautiful day. Tammy

  7. We have had the air on all summer it seems. Today for the first time in quite a while I put on long pants. The temps have cooled down into the 70;s but I still can't convince Ernie to turn off the air.
Hope it cools down soon for you.

  8. I like how you found your inspiration from those flowers. :) I imagine that in your part of the world, there's barely a day where you can say "it is cool out".

Thankfully we're experiencing a bit of cool here - though still in the 80s during the day, so the air goes back on during the day, but it goes off at night where it's been cooling down to the upper 50s (!) at night, unseasonably cool for August, but that's okay. I'm ready for a bit of that.

Considering our schools do not have air conditioning throughout, I know that the teachers and students are hoping this keeps up for next week, but we'll see. Even with temps in the 80s it will be hot in those school buildings, but such is life.

Hope you have a wonderful end to the week.
    Linda :)

  9. When in doubt... flowers, always! My apartment is full of plants and flowers all over, even in photos, pictures or dried. I guess it's my way to bring in the sunshine all year round. And of course, pink and green are my favorite color combinations... :)

  10. Oh my gosh Tammy, that is one hot day! I should plant those pink flowers, about July mine all seem to wither because I am too busy to do all of the watering that I need to. It is cooling down here and the cooer nights make it easier to get a good nights sleep. Happy crocheting! t. xoox

  13. Dearest Tammy,

Wow, those bougainvillea are very strong plants that thrive all over the world on little food and water...
You create your won color; smart way.
    Love to you,

  14. Wow, those are some temperatures you are having right now. I can hardly imagine, especially when we think that we are having a heat wave right now at 75°. That is pretty warm considering what we have had for the rest of the summer. I am surprised that flowers can grow at all in that heat. Love the pink ones that you found though. It has been a few days since I have last posted or been to visit your blog to comment. Having some computer troubles. One time it works, one time it doesn't. I feel lost without it! Hope you are having a good day. ~Debby

Most of my blooms are gone too, as the heat has gotten them. How nice to find some pink!
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes for my boys :)

  23. Oh, I couldn't image 117 degrees! We had temps over 100 degrees, but nothing that bad. Today was only 87 and was so delightful.

Isn't great to find inspiration in the most unexpected places?

    Have a great week.

  29. Oh yes, life is all about simple pleasures. And I love flowers, how amazing it is to find things blooming under any conditions.;)
117 seems a lot, but considering the extremely bad summer we ave been having, I would some heat. We have only been up to around 70F as the most.;)
Thank you so much for your recent visit and a very kid comment, it is good to be back.;)
