A Tidbit of History

I didn't take any pictures today and don't really have much to share so thought I'd check back on what I was doing this time last year when I was in Hattiesburg, MS taking care of my mom.

Turns out, I didn't take any pictures on that day either.

But, since it is Black History Month, I thought I'd share this sculpture and plaque that is on the campus of my brother's alma mater.

For her generosity, Oseola McCarty (1908-1999), received many honors and awards, including the Presidential Citizens Medal and honorary degrees from USM and Harvard.

A true inspiration.

  1. I love sculptures, and this one is very nice. I'm taking back, as the lawn chairs in the photo, are just like the ones we had in our back yard.

  3. A lovely sculpture! And as inviting as a friend's porch. I wonder how many people have had their photograph taken sitting in the second chair.
