Bazaar for Breakfast

Bazaar is a Turkish restaurant not from where I live.
My husband and I visited once in October for lunch.
But this time I met my friend, Aruna, there for breakfast.
On the left is falafel baked in bread and drizzled with tahini (sesame paste) and on the right is a spinach pie.  Really tasty!
There's also a market and deli where you can purchase different Turkish food items.
I love how bright and colorful the decor is.
We wandered around the complex just a bit afterwards.
Snapping pictures along the way.
Happy Monday!

  3. What a wonderful looking place to dine with a friend! As a lover of colorful things I was in awe of the collection of pretty lanterns on the ceiling. I hope you'll have a wonderful week, my friend. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  4. Your lunch looks fabulous Tammy. I love tahini but I need to learn more ways to cook with it. Everything looks so bright and cheery. I’m glad you had a good time with your friend. Many blessings, Betsy

  5. Oh, that spinach pie!!! I can almost taste it!
Maybe I've mentioned this to you before, Tammy, but many years ago I used to go to a tiny family restaurant where I would order spinach pie and Turkish coffee - the only time in my entire life I truly enjoyed drinking coffee. The first time I tried it was a revelation, and the proprietor (the man of the family - there were two women who I only saw in glimpses when the swinging door to the kitchen opened) brought me a second cup - I think just because he saw how genuinely excited I was about the coffee! Any time after that when I visited the restaurant - and it could have been months between visits - he would greet me when I came through the door with a gruff shout of "Hello Lady!" It was only when I met friends there for lunch one day that I discovered he didn't do this - as I had assumed - with all female customers - it was just me! :)

  8. Both of the breads look delicious, and have such a great presentation on the boards. Lunch out with a good friend is a real treat. I'm envying you the bright skies and sunshine just now, for we are in the midst of rain and gloom, with nary a hope in sight for a white Christmas. Have a good day!

  9. What a beautiful place! And, of course, the food looks delicious. I love both spinach pie and falafel (and the olives!) and could drizzle tahini over anything. Love that stuff.

I was not sure if you celebrate Christmas, and then I saw the Christmas tree in your photo looking so cheery!
So I am wishing you a Merry Christmas!

  13. Turkish food is becoming more well-known in Australia.
I love your photos of the ceiling tiles - the patterns provide inspirations for crochet designs. I'm glad you had time to stop and catch up with your friend in a pretty and interesting place. If one must be busy, nothing beats being busy socialising!

  14. Dearest Tammy,
Oh, you made me mouth water for the Turkish breakfast! So healthy too.
LOVE the lace like ceiling tiles, so beautiful.
Also those lights hanging down from the ceiling.
One day I would love to visit Turkey, having had Turkish neighbors for 5 years in The Netherlands and their young daughter is still very close to me.
It is a wonderful culture and also the food is delicious!
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

  15. Tammy - I am always amazed by the contrasts where you live … gorgeous restaurants and shopping areas versus some of the dirty trashy scenes you show us. I am glad you have 'pretty' places that you can go.

  16. I would love to go to that restaurant/market....how wonderful! I love the breakfast items too as I don't care for sweets or cereal or traditional American breakfast items except eggs and bacon and occasionally waffles. I'm going to make a spinach quiche and add that to my breakfast list of things to eat. What a great market place and out with a friend is always nice.
