KIP Day 2018

Worldwide Knit-in-Public Day was celebrated yesterday in 53 countries at 560 different public  events.  It is the 13th year that the event has taken place; and the 4th year that Kuwait Crafters, the stitch group I am a member of, has officially participated.
A few of us filled bags with handmade brooches as welcome gifts for attendees.
Don't let this next picture fool you.
That's basically all the crocheting I did the entire time.  Mostly I was meeting and greeting and seeing what everyone else was up to.
Hands that hook, knit and stitch.
WIPs (works-in-progress)
And show-and-tell.
We also had some giveaways and I just happened to be the lucky winner of a gorgeous bag of crochet goodies, but I'll share more about that next time.

Sunday blessings,

  2. What an amazing time you had! I wish I'd participated in KIP but I am not a member of a knit/crochet group even though I wish I was. It was fun to see all the different project people were working on. I look forward to seeing what is in your gift bag! Have a super week! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  8. I didn’t even know it was knit in public day. I did knit a LOT, but in the privacy of our trailer as it was cold and rainy and we even had a winter weather advisory near us for snow. In June!
The projects you shared are gorgeous! You have some very talented friends. :-). I’m looking forward to seeing what is in your bag of goodies.
    Blessings,

  9. Wow - that looks like a fantastic day! And so many pretty projects...and such variety, too. The basket! That elephant!!!
Congrats on your prize :) Even without seeing the surprise inside, the bag itself looks like quite a beautiful and practical item. I'll bet you will put it to good use :)

  11. How fun to see all those pretty projects. That elephant is amazing! Lucky you to have a stitching group.

I love your rosette necklace - did that come from Colorado or did you bead it? We have a lot of Native American customers at the bead store where I work, so I get to see some stunning rosettes. :)

  15. Tammy - sorry I am so late in commenting - hard to sit in front of a computer when the days are so beautiful. Anyway, I was fascinated by the pictures of the hands - it seems a simple thing -hands - and yet they are all so different!! Love it! Enjoy your weekend!
