Crafting and Gardening

Yesterday was a gorgeous day for being outdoors.
In the morning, I met my craft group at Miral Complex where we sat outside crocheting/knitting/stitching, having our coffee (and vegan cranberry orange cake complements of Zahra) all while enjoying a lovely view of the sea.
One of the ladies handmade these felt puppets for use at the preschool where she works.
So cute!

In the afternoon, it was time for community gardening from 3-5 p.m. where we planted, watered, spotted a gecko and did some rock painting.

A colorful, beautiful day well spent.

Peace and blessings,

  3. Tammy - it warms my heart that your weather is now suitable for outdoor activities. And what a precious location to hang out with friends and do crafts! I am not sure that you could have moved me from the spot. The gecko is quite colorful - he will fit right in among the painted rocks! Have an inspirational week!

  7. Rock painting has really caught on everywhere. I guess that is the magic of the internet at work.

I found two while we lived in Jacksonville. So far, haven't found any at our new location.

  8. What a wonderfully fun day that you had. I so enjoyed the peek at all of the projects people were working on. And to have that view of the sea! I would be so happy. I miss the ocean. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve seen it. The rocks are beautiful. You have such a kind heart to give so much time to the children.
    Blessings, Betsy

  9. What a lovely post. So colorful. Love the painted rocks. I have several my daughter have given me since she lives by the beach and collects lots of nice rocks.

You have been busy...and the fruit of your labor is so beautiful.

The children must love you so.

  14. Looks like a great day to be outdoors doing what you love best! :) ♥
We've been having spring-like temps here in Central Illinois but I haven't been able to enjoy any of the beautiful weather as I've been ill for a week and on antibiotics now which leave me feeling still loopy though slowly returning to health (I hope). Been missing my walks/runs.

  17. Dearest Tammy,
That indeed was a beautiful and very colorful day and that Gecko was a great bonus!
How soothing and calming that is for sitting next to he sea in fresh air.
So glad that two days ago I finished my South Africa Memoir; Pieter enjoys reading them and that's what it is all about.
They are lined up for publishing every 4 days.
We live one day at at time and hope God grants Pieter many more with me together.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  20. Hi Tammy!

I love all the pictures in this blog post. Great collage!
So much creative activity going on! So happy
to see all the joy put in to these things and
    the shining sun.

The dolls with the Arabic outfits are just marvelous. :)

Today is a gray day here and looking forward to the fact my most
"Grey year ever" is soon over so I can start all over.
Thank you for your support during this year. I promise myself
all the time to write a letter to you but then life takes over...

I wish you a wonderful week and remind you I´d love to see some of
the scrapbooking you have done over the years. :D

    Hugs
    Sussie.

  21. That's fabulous that you are able to get into the garden again and hello to your gecko!
It is interesting to see how your gecko is a much lighter colour with spots - the ones that visit my garden are darker with a marbled pattern on their backs. It's a sign of a healthy garden to have wild visitors.
