February 26th,
1966
a baby girl was born.
Another birthday celebrated in Sri Lanka.
The day started with coffee and a lovely view.
Then a walk around Beira Lake in the center of Colombo.
Standing Buddha with hands facing forward represents “Stopping the Ocean” or “Causing the Waters to Subside”.
On our walk around the lake, we saw an Indian palm squirrel,
a crow,
a water monitor lizard,
a duck
a little egret,
and a muscovy duck.
We also saw pelicans on the way back to the hotel.
There's always so much to see and experience while in Colombo.
And I'm always happy to celebrate my birthday there with our adopted family.
Happy Sunday!

Belated Happy Birthday Tammy.

Happy Happy Birthday Tammy! Hope it was great!!! And in response to your comment on my blog, I don't get the time change either. I know I don't like it. It's 4:20 am here and I'm wide awake! And that snow storm is knocking on our door as I type. So ready for Soring. I'm tired of the gray days too.

ReplyDeleteDearest Tammy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a very special Birthday you celebrated!
Love your photos and such a walk around the lake where you encounter a vast variety of birds and mammals is balm for our soul.
Being peacefully in nature like that makes us calm and whole.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
