Changing Colors

Last winter I had a gorgeous red hibiscus that gave me many, many blooms and lots of joy every time I would see a new flower.  Unfortunately, those blooms only lasted a day then would immediately fall to the ground.
Even though I moved its location once summer rolled around, it just couldn't survive the heat.
So this year, I bought what I thought was a yellow hibiscus, but every time it blooms, I'm in for a surprise.
And thankfully, these flowers last more than just a day.

Colors are the smiles of nature.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  7. Beautiful! I'm happy you found a variety that bloomed all the time. We've had these in the summer and have tied to bring them inside over the winter. The last time I found little bugs flying around and eggs on the backs of the leaves!!! I think the heat inside caused this. Yuck! Well, sorry for being a Debbie Downer! Enjoy your precious blooms, outdoors!!! ;-D

  10. Oh such lovely colors. When we lived in Santa Barbara, CA years ago, I had bushes of double pink Hibiscus. Loved them so much. Everything grew so well there because of the climate.

    Happy New Year, friend.

  11. Hi Tammy,
What gorgeous flowers! I love hibiscus but my plants usually attracts bugs. Spent the last hour going back and reading all the blogposts that I'd missed. Your posts always make me happy. Thank you for sharing wonderful pics of the places that we might never get to visit. Wish you a very Happy New Year and I hope 2017 brings you and your family a lot of joy, happiness, good health and peace of mind.

  12. Wow! Those are colorful! I've never seen colors like that and I have had many hibiscus. I wonder what kind it is? Of course, I only have access to Walmart flowers unless I go online. I have one I brought in for the Winter that is pale orange and is blooming now. I had heard at one time that there is only one bloom at a time on each plant but I'm not sure that is true. I think it depends on the size of the plant....I know nothing! LOL! Thank you for sharing those gorgeous blooms with us, who are in the middle of Winter over here....much different than your Winter! LOL! Enjoy!

  18. Dearest Tammy,
You got yourself some perfect 'SMILES' in a pot and they seem to like their surroundings very well.
Hibiscus drink a LOT of water, I always joke about them in mid summer like letting their ears hang floppy when they lack lots of water. They do perk back up right away though.
You at least don't have to move them inside a greenhouse for overwintering... We always have to.
Enjoy the final days of 2016. I'm nursing my flu, final stage of it...
    Hugs,
    Mariette
