Everlasting Blooms

Last Saturday I was in bed all day with a stomach bag that lasted through Sunday.
Since then, I've dealt with migraines, hip and knee pain, fever and a UTI.  Needless to say, it's not been a whole lot of fun around here..  But thankfully, as of this moment, I'm about 90% better and have been on a crochet flower binge.

I bought this book sometime earlier this year and just rediscovered it the other day.
So far, I've made patterns 1-3, above.
Pattern number 4.
I skipped around then and did pattern number 9 which is a carnation bud, but it reminded me of this tiny moss rose bud picture I took recently.
For today, pattern number 7 is the bluebell.
I've also made many more roses using the pattern from  Skip to My Lou.
A red rose in a plastic bottle that has been upcycled with a crochet cover.  The stems for the roses are coffee stirrers that I colored with a green Sharpie.
Pink roses hanging out on the balcony.
And an upcycled tin can with pretty little roses that I gifted to a friend for her birthday along with other rose themed items.
I think it's safe to say things are bloomin' beautiful around here.

Have a sensational Saturday.

  1. What a week full of health woes for you, and good to see you are in full recovery mode. The red rose and vase are my favorites, though the bluebells are pretty too.

  6. I am so sorry your were not feeling well. Just one of those ills would be bad enough but to have them all is sheer misery. Your ability to bounce back so quickly speaks to your healthy lifestyle of eating and walking. Bless You. Lovely flowers you are crocheting. How fun to crochet so many different kinds. Your garden will be blooming all summer long...right through your hottest heat. So Pretty Dear...

  21. I do hope you're feeling better now - when it rains it pours, doesn't it? (Maybe not such a good metaphor considering where you live, but you know what I mean.) :)

Wonderful crochet flowers! Quick projects are the best kind when you're not feeling well, especially cheery projects like these. I really like those bluebells, and the pansy on the book cover.

  22. Wow I had that a few weeks ago. Awful. You inspire me with your work. Got to finish up a crocheted square for a blog quilt for a needy person with CA. It is getting hot here now also. Thank goodness no wind and sand like you have there.

  23. Gosh Tammy, that sounds like a very tough time! I hope you are 100% well now!
Your flowers are lovely, and it is amazing how much can be done and in such variety, just with "sticks and string" :)

  24. Dearest Tammy,
You had me puzzled with that stomach bag at first but than I got it; a bad bug you caught. Oh my, what an ordeal that can be at times.
So glad you're up and about again and creating lovely flowers. That bud was really surprising, looking so very sweet.
The roses are cute as well and so cleverly with the coffee sticks, made green.
    Sending you hugs and blessings,
    Mariette

  28. So sorry you were ill, Tammy! I admire your flowers and your up cycling efforts. I have made tissue paper flowers, but have yet to crochet any flowers except for a tiny rose I crocheted onto Rose's baby bib several years ago. One day I will have to be brave and try to crochet more :) xx
