Last Saturday while we were at The Secret Garden, the wind was blowing so cold that we had a hard time keeping our hands warms. I decided then and there that it was time to crochet some fingerless gloves.
And I knew that Melissa was the perfect person to take a walk with so we could photograph the four pairs I made. The first set was made with a tweed stripes yarn that my husband brought back from Bangkok years ago.
Although the weather was absolutely gorgeous, it can get a little chilly near the water. The good news is the handwarmers did a great job of keeping our hands warm. while allowing our fingers to be free to easily take pictures.
I used yarn that I already had on hand so am linking this to the December Stashbuster Party over at Linda's Crafty Corner.
Have a great day!

Loving the picture of the fingerless mittens with the palm tress, had me chuckling out loud

Great-looking handwarmers. They are so practical for out walking with a camera.
ReplyDeleteNecessity truly is the mother of invention. Your fingerless gloves are wonderful. This was a gorgeous day for a walk. Love your photos dear...
ReplyDeletebeutiful gloves and I love your pictures along the corniche .... they remind me of Cairo !
ReplyDeletehappy weekend, xxxx Ale
Your fingerless gloves are wonderful and so practical, Tammy. How thoughful of your hubby to bring you yarn back from his trips.
ReplyDeleteI love your fingerless gloves. I may ask my mom to make me a pair. Its always so satisfying when we can use our stash for these cute little projects.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors you used for these! They're beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of pairs of mittens that have fingerless gloves underneath so that I can peel the top portion of the mittens back in order to have my fingers opened for a moment in the cold to take a picture and then promptly cover them back up so my fingers don't freeze off in subzero temps on my morning walks. Thankfully we're having none of that weather right now where temps in the 50s and 60s is 20-30 degrees ABOVE normal temps for this time of year for here. The perennials are growing and I noticed buds opening on some of the shrubs and trees which is NOT normal and not exactly good, but everyone seems to be enjoying the warm weather and at least we don't have to commute to work in snow, which is good. ;)
Have a nice weekend,
Linda

How creative your photos showing the hand warmers, and they look like fun to make and wear. It's hard to believe you would get cold where you live, but I understand with the low humidity it can feel chilly! Beautiful yarns!

Hello dearest Tammy,
ReplyDeleteyour handwarmers AND the photos of them are great! Good idea to present them at this pretty place near the water – and the first pic looks really funny with the palm trees in the background: At first sight (when I saw the thumbnail-photo) I thought, the trees were a knitted part oft the gloves ;o))
Thank you so much for your comment to my fair-play-post! I am happy (but a bit astonished, too) that the google-translation was good enough to understand what I wanted to say. I think you had a clever boss. Of course most oder some of us want to help when we see starving people, but we should first THINK and then give the PERFECT KIND OF help…
Lots of hugs, my dear,
have a good time!
