Visiting Val

Val of Yarni Gras and I have been blog friends for a while and were able to meet 2 years ago when we took our oldest son to college.
This time we got to meet her new furbaby Osa, who was a little shy at first,

but after a few visits and a walk, we were the best of friends.
 Val is a fantastic cook
and all around crafter.
We met at Starbucks for a little charity crochet which resulted in several hats being donated to @hookinforacure.  Sydney is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award and would like to collect 2,000 hats by the end of the year (sizes 12 months, 18 months, toddler, child, teens).
Donations go to children with cancer in Minnesota hospitals, so if you crochet or knit and would like to donate, you can send the hats to:
Gold Award Sydney
1058 Roma Avenue
Roseville, MN 55113

Thanks Val for your friendship and hospitality.
Hugs and blessings,

  5. How nice to meet a blogging friend! The Gold Award project looks like a great one. I also have my Girl Scout Gold Award. My project was a collection drive to benefit a home for abused women and their children. I wish I'd known more about crochet then, I could have made something for them too. Hope you have a good week, Tammy.

  10. How perfectly lovely that you and Val were able to meet up like this. The hats you made are such pretty colors and my hats off to Sydney for organizing the project for such a wonderful cause.
Val's meal does indeed look scrumptious and the sentiment on the napkin made me smile.

  12. Sounds like a whirlwind trip you did. Were you in WA state or DC? If you were here in WA I hope the fires and smoke didn't get to you. I worry it will never end.

  13. Hi Tammy - just read your last few blog posts. I saw lots of your photos on IG of your trip, but it was nice to see more of them here on your blog and read the stories about your friends and the places you got to visit. I would love to travel out west someday like you did...wow, what beautiful country.
