Shades of Gray

I snapped these photos while my son was getting in some driving time today.  Ominous looking  clouds that held only a tiny little burst of rain.
It was a good day for soup and taking care of business with my college boy who is only here for 6 more days.
1 cup of red lentils cooked in 6 cups of water with one diced potato and one chopped onion, seasoned with vegetable broth extract, black pepper, cumin and lemon juice, and topped with fried pita bread.

Warm wishes to one and all,

  1. I like your simple red lintels soup recipe. I am not much of a cook but I know I can handle making this. Only six more days with your son and off he flies back to college. Children become adults so fast -- blink of an eye! Nice photos -- barbara

  2. How wonderful that your college boy is home for awhile, where does he go to college? Mine will be going back to college (Gonzaga in the US) tomorrow unfortunately...

This has been a lazy day here, just waiting on going out tonight in the cold.

  4. Those are some wormy looking clouds. I'm glad that you didn't have much rain for your outing though. I know you're enjoying every minute with your boy.

  6. Wonderful photos! Looks like those clouds would hold buckets of rain...a deluge.

Good soup/ stew inspiration. I have lentils for a lovely veggie - lentil soup this coming week. Mmm. And, maybe, homemade crusty bread?

Cold and snowy here at the beach!

  8. We had a similarly grey day. But I was able to start and FINISH my 2nd Newborn Guinea Pig! I am glad you have your son with you for 6 more days. It will be hard to say goodbye. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
