Yesterday when visiting some of the stashbusting participants, I came across a free crochet pattern for a jam pot cover from Nata's Nest. I have saved tons and tons of jars and have wanted to make decorative toppers for them but have never done so, until now ...
Aren't they lovely?
It's like making a little fitted doily. Such a quick project. And so satisfying. I made these 6 just last night and plan to make lots more.
Even drew and painted my own little version of Taos Pueblo.
The other night I made baked blueberry muffins and they were a hit with co-workers. If you'd like to make your own, you can find the recipe here.
Have a great day!

I adore Taos.
ReplyDeletespotted Nata's pattern yesterday, too!!! You made colourful toppers and I like them all!!!!!

Hi Tammy ! Those jar toppers are just too cute! I am also enjoying your doodles/watercolor!
ReplyDeleteWow! Have you been creative! Your artwork is really wonderful! I think you found your niche. Is there something in the air? I've all of a sudden felt like "creating" and want to get some watercolors or watercolor pencils. In fact I have some sketches I've done in the past.
ReplyDeleteThe jam covers rock! I too have wanted crocheted ones as I use fabric. Thank you for the pattern and yours are darling.
I love being able to pin also....it's quicker than copying and pasting and opening a word document etc.
Your blueberry donut recipe looks yummy and my grands love blueberries so I bet they would really love those! Have a great week.
The baking looks delicious! My blueberries don't last long enough to be added to yummy muffins...sometimes they don't even make it all the way back to the house ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your Taos painting! Very very nice. I've been playing around with watercolors recently, too. Fun!
I love your toppers! These lovelies have that little something that brings me in the past and make me remember my grandma's pantry :)
ReplyDeleteYou sure are a renaissance woman! Crocheting, painting and baking.. your husband must love you a lot! We're just having another hang out day - Autumn is a very busy time for me with my volunteer organizations.. so I'm enjoying a down day.

ReplyDeleteSomeday I would like to try to make a collection of colorful jar caps, too.
Do blueberries grow near you? Your muffins look yummy :-) My family has been picking some blackberries from around the ponds...and one of my daughters made some yummy freezer jam.

ReplyDeleteGoodness you've been a busy bee! I love the colors and pattern on your jar toppers. So pretty, AND you 're a painter too. Love them all. You certainly are talented. I made banana bread tonight but it doesn't look as good as usual. It's still on the cooling rack.. I used a different recipe than the one I have always used as it had butter in it and Piper is allergic to all dairy. Have a lovely almost fall day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,.
Betsy

Your jam jar toppers are adorable! Will you make jam or marmalade to fill them? And I love your watercolors, esp of your fabulous trip. I always do a watercolor journal when I travel, the memories are so special when captured with brush and color or pen and ink.
