The Beginning of Another Weekend

It happened yet again.  Nearly a whole week gone by without blogging though I have been visiting when I can.  The weekdays just fly by which is good in most ways.  I just wish the weekends didn't seem to do the same.
Our weather is still comfortable though the daytime temperatures are reaching close to 90 F.  Air conditioning is a must already and walking is best during early morning or late afternoon.  Flowers are still blooming on both balconies but watering is required much more frequently because of the heat.
This morning hubby and I went to his warehouse so he could oversee some work being done.  We had chai and chapati for breakfast then headed over to Souk Al Juma'a (Friday Market) for a look around.  I have added to my collection of dallahs (Arabic coffee pots) and picked up some more enamelware for the kitchen (plus a few other things).

Weekends are all about relaxing, recharging and doing joyful things so that's what I plan to do the rest of the day.
Wishing you a great start to yours!

  2. Yes, I agree weekends are for relaxing and enjoying. Like your wee flower teapots. I see that I think( Jingle) is staying cool in the shade of the potted planted. VBg Hugs Judy

  4. This sounds like a great start to your weekend! I agree ... the weekends go by all too quickly. What a lovely collection of coffee pots! I just went thrifting this morning (what else is there to do when it rains?), and picked up a really nice tea pot for my collection. I sort of hate that I have a "collection" of tea pots now ... it makes it sound like I'm heading for trouble ;) Enjoy your weekend in the warm sunshine! Wendy x

  5. I hope your weekend is happy and continues to be relaxing. I agree, they seem to speed right by. I'm fascinated by your collection of coffee pots. The shapes, the sizes. Beautiful. Thank you for taking us along on your shopping trip.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. I like your coffee pot collection! I have a teapot collection. I can't even remember what it feels like to be warm. I keep thinking that after this freezing winter it can't possibly ever feel too hot, and I keep warning my kids that we won't be turning on the air conditioning at all this summer. Ha. I know temperature extremes are temperature extremes regardless of what end of the thermometer they are at.

  7. Oh what I wouldn't give for 80 or 90 right about now. I'm a heat girl and I'm tired of being cold all the time, though things are slowly improving here... one step forward one step back at times though. It's very windy, grey and cool here this morning but supposed to get up to 53 and 50 tomorrow though there's a chance for snow flurries overnight (not amounting to anything though). I just keep waiting for things to turn GREEN. I've never missed green more than this year I think and it is one of my favorite colors to wear and to see. : )

I like all of your photos - the collection of pots next to the painting is neat.

I plan to do some raking in the yard this weekend if weather permits. My weekdays are generally so relaxed that by the time the weekend comes, I'm ready to get moving and doing something.

    Happy days to you,
    Linda

  12. I want to dive right into the pictures of the market :)
So hot already! You and Jingles both have the right idea about quality time, I think.
Today was just barely warm enough for an all-day drizzle instead of snowfall, so more of the old snow is gone but overnight there will be a new layer of ice forming. I almost fell twice on my own doorstep yesterday, which after successfully navigating all my icy paths with water buckets and flakes of hay just seemed insulting!
Have a perfectly lovely weekend, Tammy - and thank you for you input on my travel decision. You are right - it is really a question of "where" not "if." :)

  13. Looks like Jingles has found the secret to staying cool on a hot day!

I love chai. I have started making my own unsweetened chai lattes. It's a wonderful way to start the day.

  14. What an interesting market place. I think your painting and collection of coffee pots is such a beautiful display.

I made the "no roll out" sugar cookies today from your recipe. I didn't have sprinkles, so rolled them in raw sugar crystals, and then ended up frosting them with some left over canned coconut pecan and vanilla frosting. Sugar on top of sugar on top of sugar... thrice as good...teehee.
