A Sunny Spring Day

Science has never drummed up quite as effective a tranquilizing agent as a sunny spring day.
 ~W. Earl Hall
I am going to try to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers, and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen.
Anne Lamott
It was such a spring day as breathes into a man an ineffable yearning, a painful sweetness, a longing that makes him stand motionless, looking at the leaves or grass, and fling out his arms to embrace he knows not what.
After a week of all kinds of weather, today is absolutely beautiful.
There was much to see and hear as we wandered along on our morning walk.
Birds chasing butterflies.  Dragonflies and flowers.
Even a rooster, chicken and a duck.
To everyone surrounded by snow, I'm sending warm Spring wishes your way,

  1. Hi Tammy: I wrote a nice long comment and it disappeared! Oh well. My brain won't remember exactly what I said, but it was something along the line of thank you for taking us along for springtime!

We had rain, hail, thunder and snow yesterday in the Pacific Northwest, but today the sun is shining and it makes everything seem so much better.

    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. Such lovely photos! Thanks for the warm wishes. We are pretty chilly today and woke up to snow! It is melting away but still I don't like to see snow when it is spring!

  6. Hi Tammy,
Love all of your photos. Minus the palm trees, green grass, and flowers, our day 'looks' very similar. Sunshine and beautiful blue skies and the temperature is 37 degrees, which is actually quite nice today considering there's no wind (for once). Unfortunately, another big snowstorm coming our way on Sunday. The good news is that these late season storms never last here in Illinois and all will likely be melted in the days that follow. Still, I can't say I'm too happy about the forecast. Just one week until our spring break in NORTHERN Illinois and I'm thinking we may need to bring a sled with in case the beautiful hills of Galena are covered in snow. ;)

Enjoy your weekend. I'm about to go enjoy mine, though wouldn't you know it - I have a head cold.

  12. This is the type of living in the moment I am trying to do...enjoying every moment and element of my days.
Your crocheting is really coming along and the butterflies are adorable as is the bunny. Blissful Days...

  13. You ARE having a beautiful Spring! I love every day of every season most of the time. I only have a little trouble when it stays the same for too long....I guess too much of anything is not necessarily a good thing. I had too much of my yogurt with honey and walnuts and now I'm tired of it! LOL! Your flowers there are absolutely vibrant with color and variety! Enjoy!

  14. Looks like a fun walk. The ducks have been at the beach here lately joining the swans before they head north for winter.
We have a lot of natives that flower in Autumn as well as spring, I guess that makes up for the lack of leaf colours.
    Enjoy your day.

  20. Hi Tammy,

I'm just trying to catch up with some visiting and just read that you were in a car accident. I'm so glad nobody was hurt. It's crazy how many people drive cars while doing anything BUT paying attention!

It's a gray, dreary day here and I'm not feeling motivated to do anything but be lazy but have errands to run, so must go out.

Hope your weekend was a good one!

  25. Dearest Tammy,
"today is absolutely beautiful" sounds great and your photos look so warm and lovely! We don't have snow at the time but it has 0 degrees Celsius and in TV they said snow will come again next week... (sigh!)
Thank you for all the spring-impressions you sent to us!
Warm hugs from cold Austria, Traude

  29. Oh Tammy, looks like you enjoyed a gorgeous Spring day...I do hope there are still more to come. The weather has been a little strange around here. Other years it would have been very warm by now but we are still having really cold days and nights, well cold for us anyway. Hope your beautiful weather continues. Sending you a great big hug.

    ❤Ana

  31. Beautiful photos, Tammy...very spring-like! We are now in autumn yet the past couple of days have been so hot and muggy. A huge storm passed through last night which is fairly unusual for this time of year. I'm looking forward to cooler weather. Have a great week! xx
