so instead of a 4 inch square, I got a 6 inch square.
Not sure what I'll do with it.
I'm just glad I was able to complete it (after a failed first attempt).
Today I did even more cleaning after school (it really is never ending).
And baking, too.

ReplyDeleteGlad you already could use the new book for some different crocheting. The smoother the cotton thread, e.g. the mercerized cotton, the easier you will work. That is a bonus but of course it comes with a price tag. Are you using metal or plastic crochet hooks? That too makes a difference and you have to figure out your own 'hand' and adjusting needle sizes accordingly. But at least you are enjoying what you do and making progress! Did you learn this at school when you were a kid? Back in The Netherlands they did teach us how to knit and crochet, starting in 1st grade elementary. The next generation they taught it also to boys as it develops great motor skills.
Not only that, I always found it the best therapy for after a hectic day at work!

Wonderful square! Looks like a nice book to have around. When I make random square like that I like to use them as trivets to set bowls and vases on (kind of like a fancy coaster, if you will).

Pumpkin and crochet! Two of my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteThe crochet is getting very good! My word,,,,you're making lace it looks like. You could make several of those squares and make a table mat or table cloth or runner, or a dresser scarf. It's gorgeous!
