This Made My Day!

A friend from school who was in the States for the summer just came back and look what she brought just for me!

We don't get very many magazines in Kuwait so receiving these three really made my day.

For those who experienced yesterday's earthquake, I hope all is well. When Zack, my 12 year old, told me about it late afternoon, I didn't believe him. He's always got a story! So I was a bit surprised to learn it was true. And now there is Hurricane Irene that is threatening the southeast.

Whatever is happening, wherever you are, I hope you are okay. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

  2. Oh Tammy....if I had known you didn't get so many magazines over there I would have sent you the whole box I just dropped off at the recycle place!! I will save you some for next time.

I was totally freaked out yesterday when the Earthquake started. It only lasted a few minutes but being as I had never experienced one, I was scared to death. All the chandeliers started swinging back and forth in my house and the whole house was shaking. I looked out the window and the water in our pool was sloshing over the sides of the pool. It truly was so weird! We are not too far from where Irene is supposed to come up the east coast so we are hoping it stays off shore.

  4. How very nice of your friend to know exactly what to bring you. I enjoy magazines and they are easily accessable, what a treat they would be if not. "Molly Makes" is a magazine that is new to me. So even though you are without access to the magazines you are reading something I have not. I am in KY and we did not feel any of the earthquake. The hurricane may bring some much needed rain. Enjoy your magazines I bet you are reading 1 page at a time and loving every minute of it!

  8. What a great friend...with very good taste in magazines too :)
There is a lot of buzz around the Mollie Makes and Mary Jane's Farm is so wonderfully down to earth = Love it!

We east coasters are not used to the likes of yesterdays' 5.8 earthquake ... lots of rattled nerves and everyone will remember where they were on that day for certain

we could use some rain but storms are another matter

take care and enjoy those magazines!

  11. Hi Tammy, than good. Receive these magazines will be a feast for you! What happens to me here in P.R. muismo I have not many alternatives, but I subscribe to some and others acquire it when I travel. I'll tell you that Irene has just gone through the Caribbean and has left a trail of destruction enough, especially landslides and mudslides, it takes about 3, 4 days under rain and flooded areas and many people have lost their homes and has been chaos, considering that when I walk by here was category 1. As for the earthquake is truly "chilling" the feeling it leaves. We had one last December and was in that category, the sensation you feel is helplessness and even vulnerability to these phenomena admosfericos to which we have no ways to control them, only God protect us! Warm regards, Rose Marie

  27. magazines, who knew?! I don't even buy any since they are on all the tables around offices and work, etc.......the little things we take for granted....

  28. I can't believe you found such cool magazines in Kuwait. VERY NICE!! I hope you enjoy them.
My sister called me tonight on the way back from a computer training course in Boston. She was in class in a hotel in Boston when they felt the room shaking. The quake was centered in Virginia, so I found that amazing. She said it was scary, but thankfully no damage. Michelle is evacuating from NYC tonight. Someone said they could get as much as 14 feet of water covering the city. YIKES!!!
Hope you are safe where you are!!

    Love you,
    Renee
