It features one of the earliest and most prominent examples of Indian-Islamic architecture.
And the area around it is filled with ancient and medieval structures and ruins known as Qutub Complex.
The Qutub Minaret was built in 1193 and added on to in 1286 and then again in 1368.
When you consider the work and craftmanship that went into building these awe-inspiring complexes ...
it's no wonder it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You are so fortunate to be able to travel so much. I am so glad that my parents were able to take us to so many places when I was a child. I don't remember everything, but I do remember India and the snake charmers, the colours and the smells. Living in Kenya we had a large number of different cultures around us, so no one was ever "strange" to us...your boys are lucky too!!! :) :)

The buildings and monuments in your pictures are just amazing. I spent the morning with Omar and the boys at the Islamic Museum of Art here in Doha. It was amazing, and had free admission to boot. It certainly gives you an appreciation for the art created. The buildings you showed us today give me that same feeling of awe. How wonderful. Your camera was certainly putting in some overtime over the last few days. Love the pictures and stories!!
