Simple Pleasures - Bird Watching

And it seems that Susan at Writing Straight from the Heart and I are on the same wavelength. Bird watching is truly a simple pleasure that anyone around the world can enjoy. Each area has its own variety of birds that flit and flutter about to entertain.

I snapped these photos while at Frederick Meijers Garden in Grand Rapids, MI this summer.

This feeder was a hot spot for a variety of sweet little birdies.


As you can see, these little guys blended in with their surroundings.

While a bat is not a bird, I was totally mesmerized by these fruit bats hanging from these trees found in a botanical garden we visited in Sri Lanka (my 11 year old ran the opposite direction).

There are several areas around Kuwait where folks feed the pigeons and you can find them in large numbers.

Mourning Doves are constant visitors here.

As you can see, our cat Jingles also enjoys this simple pleasure.
