She works at the bilingual school where I taught for several years. And even though I've now been gone for 4 years, she still sends me a gift and card every time my birthday rolls around.
Her birthday was last week so I put together these gifts and delivered them this morning. I even managed to do a little cross-stitching. My first since sometime in December.
I stopped off at the flower shop on the way to get her some pink roses.
Most people here go for extravagant, and what I consider gawdy, bouquets. When I go in with my little vase or recycled glass jar and ask for it to be filled with flowers, the guy behind the counter thinks I'm nuts. Ha!
I hope your day is filled with pretty things, simple pleasures and sweet friends. Peace & blessings, Tammy
What a lovely thing to do Tammy. I know she must have been so happy.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of the week end goes well...
stay cool, we have a heat wave coming.... :(
but I'm not complaining!!
Very pretty gifts, dearest Tammy! Happy Pink Saturday :o)
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs, Traude

What a lovely gift you gave her too. |I think your flowers are just right!
Hope you are surviving that heat.
Keep cool,
Angela.
If I was going to put you into a category, Tammy, I think it would be gift giving. You create the most beautiful gifts out of your made things and little tidbits. Take care, blessings, Diane
ReplyDeleteYa know, I never did get to see what you gave her....adorable and thoughtful as always. What a great idea to go to the flower shop and fill your own vase. I love how you always have your gift baskets color and themed coordinated.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you today as always and hope you didn't suffer too much out in the sun:) Hope the rest of your day went well and that your little friends weren't waiting for you to get home:)
HI Tammy,
ReplyDeleteYour friend would have been thrilled with the birthday gift, how lovely.
The cross stitch is pretty with the rose and I love the idea of you taking your own container to put it in.
Happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
As a retired florist of many years I always thought a dozeh roses was a waste... I thought to recieve a rose more often and no reason would be much more effective... It makes it sweet.
ReplyDeleteHi, Tammy,
ReplyDeleteI know Theresa loved her rosy gifts!! I am with you on the bouquets. I have always preferred a small cottage style arrangement rather than a big bouquet. I hope your weekend has been a good one. Thank you for your faithful visits and kind comments. Lots of love being sent your way~ Vicki

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Your gifts are lovely. I love the simple flowers in the recycled container. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteHow very wonderful of you to remember Theresa. I am sure you made her day by stopping by. What was it like being back at GBS?? That would be enough to make me go running for the nearest door.
ReplyDeleteI love knowing that you have enough free time during your days now to take care of people who you don't always get to see anymore. Good for you!!
Love,
Renee
