Tuesday This and That

This is what my dining table looks like when I try to craft.

My friend, Melissa, came over the other day, saw my dining table, declared it tidy and said that I was exaggerating when I stated it was a mess. She saw it when I had everything in neat piles. Now it's just one big pile.

I was inspired last month by the one and only Creative Carmelina. That girl has talent. She posted projects she did with crocheted chains. Simple enough, but it's taken me this long to finally sit down and do something with the idea.

I stayed up late last nite just trying to come up with a little something.

These are my first attempts. I had a problem with smearing the glue so need to sort that out. I guess I have to just be a little more careful. But then again, if it's handmade, does it have to be perfect?

Today I received two nice surprises. Our Middle School Principal went to London for a recruiting fair. I did the prep work for it so he brought back this mug as a thank you. I was just doing my job, but isn't it nice to be appreciated.

He didn't even know that I already have a collection started of these mugs from Starbucks. Some from the States ...

And these are from Jordan, Kuwait and Madrid. Love the colors for Jordan and Madrid.

The second gift was from our Registrar who is from Lebanon. Handmade soaps that are scented with orange blossoms. Divine! I placed them in a bowl of handmade soaps I already have.

Well, I need to go clean off my dining table. I hope that you have a day filled with surprise and delight. Many blessings, Tammy

  1. That beautiful, how nice to have so many beautiful things present and to share, that's what power is all about living life to the full but sharing love, friendship, companionship, there is nothing that is all, and not a little, right?
And those cups are so beautiful I loved, a hug from Argentina, and not missing any opportunity for us to exchange memories of friendship, affection Chany

  2. Hello T!!!

You finally did it! I just love the heart card! and the multicoloured thread changing shades is a lovely touch! Well done, A ++!
It really takes a little glue...if you put too much on it can be messy!

And I love your floral idea with the button in the middle! Thanks for mentioning me!

  4. If we lived closer to each other, I'm sure we'd be knee deep in that pile. And yes, Carmelina is one creative cookie...as you are. Have a good one.

  16. It doesn't matter what your creative space looks like as long as you feel comfortable creating there. I love your new gifts, also, I'm amazed at the pretty things people give you in appreciation. I love the Starbucks mugs but I only have two, Alaska and Baltimore. BUT - I have a Starbucks apron which my daughter sent me when she was a barista in Baltimore. Blessings on your day, Diane

  19. I love what you did with the crocheted chains and the friendship sentiments!

And your mug collection has given me an idea; I'm going to buy myself a mug when I visit Barcelona next week and start a collection for myself.

Your collection of mugs is great.

  20. Hi there! I have barely made to time to post let alone read other blogs. So I too am catching up. I am so glad I am not the only one who makes a mess on the table when I craft. I love the crochet cards, especially the heart! And you do have a nice collection of mugs!

  21. Your table is nothing but a clutter of love and creativity....ok, I believe you now. What happened??? Did your table throw up when I left?? You just never cease to amaze me with the ideas that you come up with....such simple and thoughtful jesters that will surely brighten up some one's day. Hope it makes you feel better knowing that you are not the only one with a table cluttered with kindness.

  22. The table looks fun, exciting and inviting to me!!! When I glue on tight spots, I use a small paintbrush to have a little better control over where it goes, otherwise, I'm messy :) It might work on your little crochet chains ~ Judi

  23. I only WISH I could leave my craft pile - I craft at my kitchen table, and if I didn't clear it off (and set it all on the stairs - lol) we wouldn't have any place to eat! lol

  24. Hi Tammy, Look how your blog has grown! So many comments, all lovely! I am giggling at your dinning room table. My space looks the same when I'm crafting - that's why I limit myself to my VERY small crafting table. It would be out the door if not! Your new blog header and background are just beautiful! The soaps - love handmade soaps. There is one from Spain that I covet that looks like cut up jell-o pieces inside the soap. My husband is there now but can't find it. Too cute your coffee mug collection. Such an American thing so far from shore! Have a great day. Elizabeth
