And lots of travel time.
While the kids would catch a few winks,
I would watch the countryside roll by, keeping my hands busy with a hook and ball of yarn. I managed to finish many dishcloths during that down time.
I thank God today for my trusty hook and yarn because I had a lot of waiting time.
The last period of school, Yusef had PE where they played basketball.
He fractured his left ring finger just below the knuckle which meant 2 hours at the hospital immediately after school. I'm ready for a nice hot bubble bath and pajamas then I will pick up my crochet while I watch Oprah. I'm working on this afghan inspired by Twyla at Two Crazy Crafters.
It's done completely in half double crochet. Something to keep me busy during down time. Hope you are having a quiet day wherever you are and whatever you are doing. Many blessings, Tammy

Kitties and yarn just go togehter don't they..I love all the dish clothes...I used to love to crochet....many beautiful and soft things...enjoy your down time Tammy you get lots done...hope the finger is all better soon too.

I used to love to crochet too, made potholders after potholders and couldn't seem to get enough of them. Where all that energy for crocheting went, I am not sure, but have not picked up my needle in years. So I was enjoying your post and seeing all the pretty things you are working on. Afghans, my mom used to make them alot, with lovely fisherman designs in them! Have fun making yours. Nothing more wonderful then to crochet a blanket and then cuddle up under it!!

I laughed when I saw your blog today. There was a period when I was in Kuwait when you did not go many places without your crocheting with you. You came to my house with Sam one time, and you and I went upstairs with my cross stitching and the crocheting you brought with you. HA! It is all beautiful. I am thinking you are an expert now and can whip together those things quickly. Not many people having babies, so the dish clothes are taking over your time instead of baby afghans.

that day and was feeling quite sad, but I am much more my old positive self these days
and feeling much better. (Much of it due to all my blog friends and their prayers and
positive attitude!) I am going to try to make a go of working for myself, doing art, tutorials, and blog design/help. I'll keep looking for the right thing but maybe I'm DOING the right thing! I never would have quite to take the plunge and try this on my own so maybe it was a blessing!
I am also a crochet nut and spend many winter evenings working on a scarf or afghan. It's to warm here now for that. I'll start up again next November!

Oh, I am sorry for Yusef's accident. I am sure your nerves are frazzled. It is always so hard when our children are injured and hurting. The afghan is going to be beautiful, love those colors.
