Sometimes it looks like an entire carload's worth of garbage has been thrown out in passing. I sometimes fantasize about a world where all the litter people toss around comes back to stick to them, or their car, for a month. (Isn't that terrible of me?)

These are sad times indeed for humanity. Like Betsy, I pray and pray. God have mercy on us all.

Your little hearts are lovely, and I'm sure they bring a spark of joy to all who see them!Mrs. Micawberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08680436275934263596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-15676542191606870742020-06-15T22:17:39.654+03:002020-06-15T22:17:39.654+03:00Hi Tammy, The message of the world is clear but we...Hi Tammy, The message of the world is clear but we still cannot see it. I feel sorry for seeing those litter people will not change and they will continue their irresponsible actions. In quarantine, nature is really a little relaxed, and it will be good if we gain awareness. I hope the world gives the exam, we don't stay in class. I wish peace, equality and health for the whole world...Derya https://www.blogger.com/profile/16004872870765410992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-81009906474079993672020-06-12T23:17:14.665+03:002020-06-12T23:17:14.665+03:00I have been keeping to myself and away from news. ...I have been keeping to myself and away from news. It is hard to understand people who litter. I can only conclude that they are lazy and/or were never taught the lesson of not littering. It really irks me when I get out of my car in a parking lot and someone has left their bag of fast food waste sitting there when there are usually trash bins near the entrance to the stores. Your efforts are appreciated and, hopefully, others are learning from your good example.
Nice that you and your husband are getting out and finding the beauty. Unfortunately, Covid-19 is unable to slow down ALL people: It is precisely those people who are aggressive and destructive that continue to do so. To give just one example: The Brazilian rainforest is currently being cleared faster than in previous years. It makes me so sad and helpless. But it's often the case that you first have to feel at the bottom to start a positive development. Love your wording: Humans are designed for forward motion yet some people dig their heels in so they can continue living off the backs of others.
So very true...
Yet, not all are as industrious as we always have tried to work and create for others and our loved ones.
The good thing is that I've switched the two mega tasks and first digitalized all our videos and then start writing our manuscript for the complex self publishing of our book. Pieter can then leave this world with leaving something behind for thousands to benefit and learn from. In Oxford English I've opted and all in metric as that is what is still in our veins and easiest. The English speaking world outside the US is far bigger! Self publishing with print on demand from wherever in the world, to lower the shipping costs! Important for certain countries. Doing now chapter 10 out of 12 but this and also 12 is huge.
Sending you hugs and glad you're well!
Let's hope for a better future indeed.
MarietteMariette VandenMunckhof-Vedderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877699174880945452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-61649019153860977412020-06-06T21:04:51.774+03:002020-06-06T21:04:51.774+03:00We are all adjusting to the new normal Tammy. Our world and nature can be so beautiful it seems people continue to be thoughtless. I have only been walking in our neighbourhood and haven't seen such depressing sights. I would be very upset if I did. I know dumping rubbish on a big scale goes on at night time here, usually in quiet country lanes. It must be a shock to discover and frustrating as it's difficult to apprehend the culprits. Those of us who love our environment must play our small part in being caring. Your crocheted hearts are a thoughtful gesture.Linda Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10634839688042592781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-75766781653301370022020-06-06T12:21:16.545+03:002020-06-06T12:21:16.545+03:00I feel your pain Tammy, will we ever learn, it'...I feel your pain Tammy, will we ever learn, it's hard to come to grips with what's going on right now and trying to live with this awful virus, people not following the distancing rules and yes we have litter here too, it's a small seaside town and once the rules relaxed people from surrounding villages descended on us, filled the green spaces and left their filth behind. The number of cases are rising again in the UK and I'm not surprised. Hardly anyone wears masks here but now they will have to on public transport. I made a crochet mask too but found it too uncomfortable so now I wear a fabric one that I made in crowded places. I hope that everything you said in your last paragraph comes true. Mandy said the other day, "what else can 2020 bring? So far a pandemic, riots, this weekend an ateroid is predicted to come close to the earth and now they are saying the volcanoes in Yellowstone could erupt in July." It's definitely been a year of trouble and trial. My Mom always said, "this too shall pass," whenever I would be a nervous wreck about anything. She's right. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Everything we see in human behaviour has been seen before. Unfortunately we never seem to learn do we?
I pray. And pray. And pray. I'd been blogging and keeping as upbeat as possible regarding the pandemic in April and May, but then the US "leadership" started sending "law enforcement" into the streets to attack peaceful protesters.
