Started out with Pieter's Mom's letters from 1983 on and other loved ones and friends that I had saved by year. I feel so happy for having completed this; what a treasures!!!
Still some more scanning to be done and by June 12 when I'm allowed to move about again, I guess all will be done. So grateful.
Once again congrats to your son's accomplishment and for you for being able to be present!
So sad of your Mom's fall but what can you do when in transit? We never can split ourselves in two... I've had that tugging feeling many times over but it is impossible.
You did what you could and how wonderful that your husband got to spend some quality time with his siblings in the Toronto area.
Making lovely memories is all what counts.
Sending you hugs,
MarietteMariette VandenMunckhof-Vedderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877699174880945452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-34930890557645681292018-05-23T20:35:04.486+03:002018-05-23T20:35:04.486+03:00Congrats to your son Tammy! It must have been difficult when you were in the middle of your travels back home. Also I hope all goes well if there's a need to go back to be with her. For now I hope you can take a rest. Long distance travelling must be very tiring. It's good you could be at your son's graduation and spend some time with your husband's family. I'm following the blog posts about your trip with interest.Linda Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10634839688042592781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-74574699094346118002018-05-22T19:36:07.532+03:002018-05-22T19:36:07.532+03:00It sounds like you've had a whirlwind of a tim...It sounds like you've had a whirlwind of a time lately. So glad you enjoyed your visit to Toronto and were able to attend your son's graduation. Time does fly. You look very elegant in your outfit - I'm always pleased to see a photo of the author of a blog - we tend to be hesitant in sharing photos of ourselves. I'm sorry about your mom's fall. Aging parents can be worrisome. It sounds like she is getting good care for now. I hope she recovers well. I'm so glad that you and your husband were able to have that time away, spent with family and celebrating your son's achievement.

I enjoyed seeing your nice photos.

I'm so sorry about your Mom. :( I pray everything goes well though that does indeed sound like a tricky situation. My Dad, at nearly 93, also has many problems with his knees/legs, uses a cane and a walker but is still unstable often. He falls sometimes and thankfully so far, nothing bad has happened but it's always a concern. I hope she has a good recovery and that yes, if need be, you're able to return and spend time with her. ♥

Kind regards,
LindaLindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13925694371363142572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-59249131066584159882018-05-21T12:05:12.390+03:002018-05-21T12:05:12.390+03:00Wow, I can't believe your son already graduate...Wow, I can't believe your son already graduated, Tammy. I hope your Mom recovers quickly from the surgery, and maybe the rehab will somehow provide a bit of relief for her knee issues as well.
Congrats to your son and his proud parents! College graduation - it just doesn't seem like that long since he went to Colorado. But then, time seems to be racing by these days. I'm glad you were able to do so much visiting and travelling - connecting with people and sharing important events is what it's all about, isn't it?
Take care!Quinnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17292701509476856967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-8757667604874363992018-05-21T05:02:38.321+03:002018-05-21T05:02:38.321+03:00I can understand the blogging break and the reason...I can understand the blogging break and the reason behind it. I'm so glad you were able to have good visits with some of your family on your trip...and I hope your mom heals rapidly. My youngest daughter and son-in-law and I are preparing our house for sale and hope to have it on the market by July 1, 2018. I am making some progress in downsizing my possessions [except for art supplies and yarn, although I did part with two skeins of yarn today :-) ] My oldest daughter and her family have already moved out which has been planned for awhile but is still a difficult transition. I have not had a place on my own as an adult so have some personal pioneering ahead! Wishing you peace and joy. xxGracie Saylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09499163425742659172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263927360240129050.post-32683346248189050352018-05-19T05:23:23.453+03:002018-05-19T05:23:23.453+03:00Glad you were able to see your son graduate. The older I get the less I like to fly such long distances but I’m hoping to head off to Japan later this year to spend some time with Alex. Congratulations to your son on his graduation. What kind of job will he have? I am so, so sorry to hear about your mom. How stressful that must have been for you to be in the middle of traveling and not know what was happening. If she lives close to me I would be happy to go and visit with her. I’m a poor replacement for you, but I would be happy to do that. Thank you for this sweet, sweet gift that you sent me.
