My husband was off yesterday for Hijri New Year (according to the Islamic calendar, the date was 1 Muharram 1447). We didn't do much -- went to a mall where he bought a shirt, I bought some lotion and we came right back home.
He's also off today because it's Friday (Juma'a) which is the holy day for Muslims.
We had lunch at a Japanese restaurant just 5 minutes away from us. During the winter months when the weather is nice, we can actually walk there from our place. Today the high was supposedly 106 F though it sure feels a lot hotter.
I've been using scrap yarns to make granny square blankets and when they are still small enough, take them out with me for those moments where waiting is required.
While crocheting at home, I watch YouTube videos -- about unique homes or crafting. Granny squares don't require a lot of my attention.
But sometimes Miss Rosie does.
Blessed Friday,

Hi Tammy, enjoyed your post, and the food looks delicious. Life around my home as been a very busy June. Daughter from Oregon and grandson came to visit, a trip to San Diego Zoo, Birthday for a great granson (18 years old) and our anniversary. Hopefully July I can get some projects done (housework) haha.
Miss Rosie looks like the perfect companion.
Hi Tammy. It sounds like you spent a lovely day with your DH. How wonderful to be able to sneak in a little crocheting time while waiting. In no time, the squares will add up. Love your darling kitty. So cute! Stay cool and have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
The meal at the Japanese restaurant sounds lovely! Pretty crochet going on--and pretty kitty!
It looks like a wonderful day! I spend a lot of time watching You Tube videos too when I'm crocheting/knitting. Always with Zoey in my lap. Rosie looks quite interested in what you're doing.
Blessings.
Betsy
The Japanese restaurant setting looks lovely - spacious and refreshing, and a respite from 106 degrees (ugh). I loved the snap of your hands with crochet, but then I saw the next one, and loved it even more :)
Hi dear Tammy! What beautiful photos you have taken of your cat. Looks very cozy! I have a similar computer pillow and Tarzan also usually "says hello" and checks that I am doing everything right... :)
I like to read about Sufism and Islam, among other things, and pick up words of wisdom here and there. Even though I am not a believer in the literal sense so that I have joined any specific religion, spirituality is important to me. And I think you are living proof of faith in practice.
It was fun to look back here and see all the nice things you have created and all the hearts that are probably not a coincidence! :)
Greetings from up North,
Sussie.
