Walking Inspiration

Let life unfold day by day
Do not rush into doing, that isn't necessary.
Trust that where your feet are is where
they are supposed to be and walk into this
day with a positive expectation --
who knows what lies ahead for you.
(Jackson Kiddard)

 Keep looking up ...
that's the secret of life...

Stashbusting Sunday: A Whole Lot of Stuff

I've lost track of all the things I've made since my last stashbusting post two weeks ago.  Crochet has been happening as much and as often as possible.  I tend to stuff finished pieces here, there and everywhere, so definitely need to get organized.  And need to start giving it all away.

I even managed some stitching at one point.  A little cross-stitched butterfly for a crocheted gift bag.
More bowls for filling.
Bookmarks
Doilies
Flowers
I like color themed gifts.
Doodling is still happening, too.
More stashbusting can be seen at Linda's Craft Corner.
Have a great day!

International Crochet Day and a Thank You!

Last Saturday a friend and I joined other ladies at the Sadu House to celebrate International Crochet day!

I made my way around the room checking out what the others were up to.
The best part was meeting two ladies from Instagram whom I had not met in person before.
And a huge thank you to lovely blog friend, Meredith at Mereknits, who sent me two crochet books all the way from Florida.  It's always a blessing to receive mail on this side of the world.  And a miracle when it arrives safely.  Thank you so much Meredith.  Your package and card really made my day!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Stashbusting Sunday: September Inspired

Boy oh boy!
This first week of September seems to have just flown by.
School days are busy and when I get home, I really don't feel like doing a whole heck of a lot.  Mostly, I kick cleaning to the curb and turn to crochet for peace and tranquility.

On Friday, a friend asked if I could crochet some anchors for her daughter who has been taking diving lessons.  She has four diving captains that she wants to give gifts to and sent a picture of what she had found online.  The first pattern I googled was in 3 pieces (top left), which was okay, but not what I was looking for.  Later in the day, and quite by accident, I came across a pattern by Petals to Picot that works up as one piece.
The only problem is they aren't very stiff so I am trying to figure that out.  I told her I would just make a bunch up and she could do whatever she wants with them.  As a surprise, I made her a little gift bag and will get some chocolate fish to put inside.
My jar topper collection continues to grow.  Pattern can
be found here at Nata's Nest.
Also from Nata's Nest is the Mandala Flower Coaster which I've made a lot of.
Both patterns are great for stashbusting  as they are super quick and use up all those little yarn bits you might have laying about.

Hope you are having a super Sunday!

Make It Monday: Jar Toppers, Drawings and Donuts

Yesterday when visiting some of the stashbusting participants, I came across a free crochet pattern for a jam pot cover from Nata's Nest.  I have saved tons and tons of jars and have wanted to make decorative toppers for them but have never done so, until now ...
Aren't they lovely?
It's like making a little fitted doily.  Such a quick project.  And so satisfying.   I made these 6 just last night and plan to make lots more.

I've been doodling, drawing and playing with watercolors which is a lot of fun.

Even drew and painted my own little version of Taos Pueblo.
The other night I made baked blueberry muffins and they were a hit with co-workers.  If you'd like to make your own, you can find the recipe here.
Have a great day!
